Legacy Trust Adds Experienced Financial Professionals to Growing West Michigan Team

Grand Rapids, Michigan, February 4, 2010 – Legacy Trust is expanding its growing West Michigan team with the addition of two experienced financial professionals.

Nancy Iannelli Zacha will join the trust-only bank and wealth management firm as senior investment manager and Brian L. Downs will serve as senior relationship manager. Combined, they have more than 50 years of experience in personal trust, investment management, brokerage services, financial planning and related services in the Grand Rapids, Holland and greater West Michigan market.

In her new role with Legacy Trust, Iannelli will manage a series of key investment accounts. She will work closely with other members of the Legacy Trust team in developing investment strategies, including recommendations as to tactical asset allocation, management of the Company’s approved security purchase list and third-party advisor engagements.

Downs, who is a certified financial planner, will be responsible for delivery of all wealth management services, including compliance with fiduciary polices and regulations, representation of trusts, coordination with other service providers, management of client relations and related matters.

Prior to joining Legacy Trust, Ianelli served as portfolio manager for Macatawa Bank, where she worked closely with personal trusts, employee benefits and individual retirement accounts. She brings more than 20 years of brokerage and banking experience in portfolio management to Legacy.

Iannelli holds a bachelor of arts from Kalamazoo College and has completed select graduate classes at Western Michigan University in business administration. In addition to her volunteer work with Junior Achievement, she volunteers in the Forest Hills school district. A native of Kalamazoo, Iannelli resides in Ada with her three children.

Beginning in 1993, Downs served as manager of the trust department with Grand Bank, which was later purchased by Macatawa Bank. He most recently held the position of senior vice president and chief trust officer. In this role, he was responsible for personal trust administration.

Downs has also had experience with both Michigan National Bank and Old Kent Bank, where he held leadership positions within their personal trust departments. He began his career with NBD in Detroit, working as a personal trust administrator. A former Navy officer, he completed three tours to Vietnam.

Downs is a past member of the West Michigan Estate Planning Council and a past chair of the Trust Executive Committee of the Michigan Bankers Association. He holds a bachelor of science degree in management from Southern Illinois University, as well as an MBA in finance from Wayne State University. He also completed Northwestern University’s National Trust School.

A native of Illinois, he resides in Ada with his wife, Vicki.
