March 8, 2010 - Legacy Trust & VSA arts of Michigan Announce Art Competition for Adult Artists with Disabilities
Legacy Trust and VSA arts of Michigan-Grand Rapids have announced a statewide art competition aimed at opening the door for adult artists with disabilities to expand their audience. The Legacy Trust Award Collection will offer cash prizes to the top three popular vote getters. The winning artists will also be registered in ArtPrize 2010 and will work with Legacy Trust and VSA to secure appropriate venues and promote their submissions.

Wallick will serve two three-year terms on the eight-member committee, which is responsible for reviewing and recommending how GRCF invests the charitable dollars it receives. For the 2009 fiscal year, the Community Foundation received $8.2 million in gifts and bequests, authorized $9.1 million in grants and had total assets of $190.4 million.

November 2, 2009 - Legacy Trust CEO Named to Kent County Pension Board
William A. Walker, founder and chief executive officer of Legacy Trust, has been named to the Kent County Pension Board. The board is a seven-member body that oversees investments related to the Kent County Employee Retirement System, which serves approximately 2,800 current and retired county employees. Walker was appointed by the Kent County Board of Commissioners to serve as one of two citizen trustees who collaborate with the three county employees and two commissioners on the board.
