Grand Rapids, Mich. (June 11, 2024) – Legacy Trust, the largest private trust bank headquartered in Grand Rapids, is pleased to announce the appointment of Skot Welch to its Board of Directors. Welch brings a multi-faceted business background that includes working as a global diversity and inclusion strategist, venture capital fund executive, industry thought leader, renowned speaker and author.
Welch is founder and principal of Global Bridgebuilders, a Grand Rapids based firm founded in 2006, focusing on organizational development, cultural transformation and inclusion. The company is comprised of international team members providing services to enterprises throughout the world. He is also co-founder and managing partner of The New Community Transformation Fund, a $25 Million venture capital fund focusing on entrepreneurs of color. Prior to starting Global Bridgebuilders, Welch served as vice president of business development and benchmarking services for Diversity Inc. magazine, where he worked with many Fortune 500 global brands across a broad range of industries.

Welch’s impact transcends the business community. He is an active supporter of education and artistic initiatives. He is the founder of The Mosaic Film Experience, an interactive high school media experience focusing on creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and career preparedness on the platform of mobile filmmaking. Welch has also been involved with The Greater Michigan Chapter of the National Black MBA Association and The Belonging Initiative.

Welch is a renowned speaker and published author. His works include 101 Ways to Enjoy The Mosaic: Creating a Diverse Community Right in Your Own Backyard, Unfractured: A Christ-centered Action Plan for Cultural Change, and Sayings to Inspire You Along the Way (And Maybe Even Change Your Life). He also co-authored Plantation Jesus. The insights shared in these books have served as the foundation for a number of public speaking presentations that Welch has delivered globally.
