Well, the Dog Days of Summer are upon us. You know those long, hot, humid days that signal back to school is just around the corner? Unfortunately, not every student is able to look forward to the start of another school year like the ones we see in the television advertisements.
Our Mission Statement at Legacy Trust is one of community leadership through “active engagement in local organizations”. We believe it is our duty and privilege to give back whenever possible. As we continue to honor our commitment to give back to the community, we have again jumped in wholeheartedly to partner with Family Promise of Grand Rapids to provide backpacks and school supplies for the children being served by this organization.
Family Promise of Grand Rapids helps families meet critical basic needs, such as shelter, food and clothing. They partner with families who are homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, by helping them to get back on their feet so they can create a stable life for their children. The mission of Family Promise is to engage community and faith-based organizations in ending homelessness, one family at a time. We are proud to partner with them as they pursue their goal of ending homelessness and we are pleased to continue to have such enthusiastic participation from Legacy Trust staff.
